happy birthday sarah from can't face the falling! they’re hitting the stage tonight for a hometown show in providence with the dear hunter, therefore i am, wax on radio, and the cadence so stop by and say HI if you are in the area. oh and it’s at the living room so a toilet seat protector and some hand sanitizer might not be a bad gift idea………

why you'll love her: when i asked jess where she draws inspiration for her work she replied with great confidence, "her butt"…….

oh what, you actually need more reasons to love her? jeez, tough crowd...

her illustrations create a world where "normal" starts to take on a whole new meaning with quirky characters and bold colors that keep her art fun and intriguing to the viewer. throw in a dash…no, make that a bucket full of humor, irony and sarcastic tones and you’ve got yourself some fantastic odd ball art. one of my favorite facets of her work are the cheeky tees recently printed by threadless ("wipe me on your butt!") and if these don't make you laugh your ass off, check your pulse..... get*into*her

"Everyone has a different opinion about the art you create and sometimes people will tell you that opinion weather it is useful to you or not. It's a great thing to learn how to differentiate between an honest critique and someone's opinion. You have to be able to realize that although the artwork you create is yours, other people are going to see it however they choose."

why you’ll love them: because they're more obsessed with gilmore girls then you..............or maybe just because they’re producing things that are cuter then kittens. either way these girls have something special going on! their designs are inspired by their childhood (the namesake was their old address!) and pay homage to all things raggedy ann and andy (more ann, less andy i'd say). their “holly” bag had an appearance in cartel’s cameo heavy video for “honestly” last winter and it’s a rare day when you don’t see one of these sacs while strolling down the hipster lovin, bedford ave. the girls recently teamed up with clandestine industries to create, in pete wentz's words, the “i’m not sleeping over” sleepover bag. i think it's down right PREFECT for said purpose and only 500 of this adorable accessory were made so jump on it before they’re gone forever. now put a bandage on your knee, grab a lollipop and get back out in the sandbox…..errr I mean, get back to work.

why you'll love her: this is the girl that convinced me that hand drawing our own magazine during 10th grade english class was more important than whenever we were supposed to be doing. in all honesty it didn't take that much convincing, and hindsight doing that was certainly more important than memorizing poetry. during those days NYLON was our bible (and might still be) and i knew this chick was going to do amazing things. she's the kind of girl who has perfected giving dirty looks and can kill your confidence without opening her mouth, then two minutes later, she's pulled a glitter pen our of her bag and is making birthday cards. yeah, she just wants to make things for you. get*into*her.

Jessica came to me last week with a look book for her bag line that literally made me jump out of my seat with excitement. these bags are fresh and eye catching yet simple enough to wear everyday. the vintage color scheme, geometric accents, and the custom hardware really makes these gems something special, and it won't be long before you're seeing them on the arms of young hollywood. these might prove to be the perfect totes to stash last nights party dress in before the paparazzi catches you sneaking out of Stavros's bachelor pad.....

my favorite people in the world are those who make me want to be a better person. they are the kind of people that get under my skin in the best way and make me want to kick my own ass. they make things happen, have the best ideas, biggest dreams, funniest jokes, and the stupidest stories. the inspiring and influential, the motivating and the enthusiastic. the people i want to still remember in 10 years......

this blog aims to create a stronger sense of community among ladies in the music, art, and fashion world by highlighting some females i think fit the previous description. i hope to provide "little girls" of all ages with positive and inspiring role models, friends, colleges, cohorts and possibly partners in crime. i strongly encourage collaborations, DIY tactics, fearlessness, and most of importantly fun! check back for updates on the projects, ventures, scams and master plans of the women featured and......... wait stop...this is getting too serious.
